I am so excited to announce the free Pathway Home quilt along! Here you will find all of the fabric requirements for this quilt, the skills you may want to have to complete this quilt, as well as the structure of the quilt along.

Fabric Requirements

• 2 yards – Background Fabric
• 3/4 yard – Light Border Fabric
• 1 yard – Dark Border Fabric
• 1/4 yard – Accent Fabric (center of log cabin and center of 9-patch)
• 5 – 1/4 yards – Dark Fabric ( for 9-patch and log cabin)
• 4 – 1/4 yards – Light Fabric (for log cabin)
• 1/2 yard – Roof Accent

* Note: you will have a decent amount of leftover fabric from your 1/4 yard cuts. If you are skilled at cutting you can purchase 2 – 1/4 yard cuts of dark fabric for the 9- patch and use the leftovers for the log cabin and purchase the rest as 1/8 yard cuts. However, I do feel that the 1/4 yard cuts will allow you the freedom to use the desired print in the placement you prefer.

**The light and dark fabrics are used to create the shadows on the log cabin block. If you would prefer a different look just purchase 9- 1/4 yards of fabric.

Skills Used During this Quilt Along

I do believe this quilt along is a beginner friendly series. I will provide video tutorials as well as diagrams and written instructions for each block. Some techniques used are: strip piecing 9-patch blocks and assembling flying geese. The rest of the piecing requires only a comfort with 1/4″ seams.

I would also like to note the the strips for the log cabin block are 1.5″ strips. So, while they are small pieces, I do think the block is fun doable to piece as long as you are comfortable with sewing 1/4″ seams.

Wrap Up

This quilt will finish at about 63″x63″. My quilt uses the Autumnity line of fabric designed by Esther Fallon Lau. I will have a few kits available in my shop. This is a perfect Fall couch quilt, but wouldn’t it also be fun in Halloween fabrics or Winter/Christmas fabrics too!?
