Let’s Create a Quilt Together!

Huge Quilt-A-Long (10 weeks!)

This quilt – a – long has been a huge project for me to put together! I broke this quilt down into 7 blocks. I will post one block a week to work on, now the trick to these blocks is that you will need to make four of each block. So, even though a block will post each week, we all have different amounts of free time so work at your own pace. The posts will remain available for whenever you are ready.

One week will be given to basting your quilt, I will give some of my tips for creating a quilt sandwich with a large quilt… and not have to break your back crawling across the floor! Another week will be for quilting, and the last week will be binding the quilt. This quilt-a-long will work through the entire process of creating a quilt!

I will post the instructions for the first block on August 11th, so gather your fabric!

Material requirements for the quilt-a-long

This quilt will be a large square quilt measuring about 67″ x 67″.

Tips for selecting fat quarters

For the dark pink center squares I used one fat quarter.

For the dark blue triangles I used 3 fat quarters. My fat quarters were the same pattern, but were different colors.

For the red hearts I used 3 fat quarters. My fat quarters were the same pattern, but were different colors.

For the purple flowers at the corners I used 2 fat quarters. My fat quarters were the same pattern, but were two different colors.

I used one fat quarter for the teal border squares.

The scraps of fabric are for the small yellow centers to the flower. You will need 16 small 1.5″ squares of the scrap fabric.

My fabric

I used a fat quarter bundle from the Love Letters collection. You can see the bundle HERE.

I used Bella solids Pale Pink for the background fabric. You can see the fabric HERE.

If you subscribe to my blog you will receive an email when each post is available for this quilt-a-long!

Quilt top in progress. All blocks completed!

Bye for now.
