Confession… I spend a lot of time scrolling through Pinterest to get ideas for projects, but I rarely ever complete them. This isn’t just a problem I have with quilt projects. I do the same with recipes from there as well!
But, I did come across some Buffalo Plaid/Gingham quilt ideas on Pinterest and knew I would actually use that idea! But of course, I needed to make it my own. So, I decided to use colors that you don’t typically see with Buffalo Plaid, and I wanted to add a diamond in the middle without losing the design.
Do you ever get started on a project and then at some point realize you put it together in the most time consuming and complicated way ever? That is what I did here with this quilt. I did learn from it though… so there is that.
The other positive is… I love how it turned out so far!
I love the thin dark purple border. I feel like it really helps the quilt pop.
Also, I am a huge fan of purple, so, this quilt makes me super happy.

Since I wanted to use a few different purples to border this quilt I knew I would need to miter the corners to make it look the way I wanted it to. I have only tried mitered border corners once before and I found it to be easier than I thought it would be. However, this time I noticed that there is a lot of loose fabric along the outer border. So, I am wondering if I got my angle off a bit. I may need to see if I can adjust that. I don’t want it to bunch while quilting!
I hope you are having fun working on your projects!
Bye for now.

Thank you! Purple is one of my favorite colors too. Almost all the fabric colors I tend to buy are purple or blue!
