I have been admiring improv quilts for years, and I have always wanted to make one, but I have to admit, I was always intimidated by the prospect. Why? Because honestly I do love the structure of traditional quilting. When I decide on a pattern I know exactly what I need to do and that benchmark keeps me moving forward.
That structure can be limiting though. So, I came up with an improv quilt pattern that works for me. There is freedom in cutting and there is freedom with curves, but there is also a bit of structure! It was just what I needed for an introduction into improv quilting.

Here is a link to the free step by step tutorial. I walk you through each block and give helpful tips along the way!
I hope you enjoy making this fun improv quilt! I sure did!
