Welcome to the Pathway Home Quilt Along. This week we will be completing 4 – Double 9-patch quilt blocks. This block represents the pathway leading home. Fall is my absolutely favorite season. I love the colors, the cooler air, and the cozy feeling Fall brings. When I think of cozy, I think of being home in an oversized sweater. I hope you enjoy sewing this block together.
Fabrics Used
- Background Fabric
- Accent Fabric
- 2- 1/4 yard Dark Fabrics
Cutting
- From Background Fabric
- Cut 3 – 6.5″ x WOF strips
- Subcut 16 – 6.5″ squares
- Cut – 2.5″ x WOF strips
- Subcut strips in half
- Cut 3 – 6.5″ x WOF strips
- From 2 – 1/4 yard Dark Fabrics
- From each cut 3 – 2.5″ x WOF strips
- Subcut each strip in half
- From each cut 3 – 2.5″ x WOF strips
- From 1/4 yard accent fabric
- Cut 2 – 2.5″ x WOF strips
- Subcut each strip in half
- Cut 2 – 2.5″ x WOF strips

*Save all leftover fabric for next week. If desired you can cut your leftover 1/4 yard dark fabrics into 1.5″ strips
Sewing Strip Sets
Sew 3 strips sets that are assembled as follows: Background fabric, accent fabric, background fabric.

Sew 5 strip sets that are assembled as follows: Dark Fabric (A), Background Fabric, Dark Fabric (B)

After sewing press all seams away from the background fabric.
Cutting Strip Sets
From the strip sets with the accent fabric cut 20 sets.
From the other strip sets cut 40 sets.

Sew Small 9-patch
Sew 20 small 9-patch blocks.

Sewing Double 9-Patch
Sew together four double 9-patch blocks.


To complete the quilt top you will need to sew 4 of the double 9-patch blocks, but you can of course sew more of them if you would like to make a larger quilt top. These blocks finish at 18.5″. Square them to size if needed.
