Using Fabric You Don’t Like

I love quilting subscription boxes, but, sometimes you do get items and fabric that just isn’t for you. It is just inevitable and the risk you take when getting mystery boxes.

Getting something you don’t like can be disappointing, but, I did learn something from it. You can always find a way to bring fabric you just really don’t like to life.

My February 2021 Sew Sampler box from the Fat Quarter shop brought me to this challenge. We received a panel from Moda and I really just had no idea how I would use it.

I know a lot of people loved this panel, but it just wasn’t. I wouldn’t use this panel to make a quilt… even for reference, and then, with all the numbers and words it really limited me in seeing how I would use it.

Needless to say, I was really disappointed with this box.

You can watch the unboxing here:

I was able to come up with a few ideas for using the fabric. I will warn you though… the way I cut the fabric left a lot of scraps.

I made a few zipper pouches, a storage basket, and a tote bag so far!

I made a video showing how I made each of these crafts.

Bye for now!
